Stormwater Remediation Works at Sisters and Half Moon Bays (Water - WSUD)
E-mail Print  Reduce font size Increase font size

This project is reducing the high levels of gross pollutants and sediment deposition entering Sisters and Half Moon Bays through improvements to the catchments? stormwater infrastructure and extension of the current bush regeneration program.  The pollutants are degrading the condition and extent of the remnant Coastal Saltmarsh (an endangered ecological community) in Sisters & Halfmoon bays.

Stormwater improvements consist of: installation of two GPTs and 16 SQIDs.  These works will remove an estimate of 8 tonnes of waste per year.

Bush Regeneration works consist of: bushcare volunteers extending the planting areas in the natural foreshore vegetation and assisted saltmarsh regeneration in Sisters Bay . A community planting day of CCBC?s Bushcare volunteers, local community and CMA staff was held on Sunday 4 May 2008 .
