| Two more Contracts signed this week! |
|
The first contract is for the Yarrowee Road Wetland in Strathfield. This wetland will provide valuable freshwater habitat on a small stream in the corner of Strathfield Golf Course whilst also improving the quality of stormwater that flows into the Cooks River. The project will include the removal of a small infestation of the invasive alligator weed at this location. It is expected that the wetland will be completed early next year. The second contract signed this week is for the installation of two gross pollutant traps along Highcliff Road in Earlwood. Stormwater that runs from Highcliff Road currently runs untreated into the bushland and down to Wolli Creek at this location. It is hoped that these two projects will help in the efforts to control weeds and protect saltmarsh at this location. Canterbury Council engineers have undertaken catchment modelling and are hopeful that the traps will be installed later this year. We will post photos on the website as soon as works get underway. |
