Boat Pump Out Facilities (Water - Marine) |
|
|
This project is one of a number of activities that will contribute to an improvement in waterway health within the Sydney Metropolitan Catchment Management Authority area.
The aim of this project is to install a public pump-out facility for vessels to pump out sullage and waste water. The project will protect Port Hacking from pollution by sewage, detergents and other contaminants carried in the holding tanks of both recreational and commercial vessels.
The Port Hacking estuary is a populat area for all types of boating activities. However the area suffers significantly through inadequate parking facilities for vehicles with trailers and has no public facility for vessels to pump out sullage and waste water.
This project will formalise a site for approximately 20 additional trailer parking spots and add an arm to the existing wharf in order to provide secure berthing and installation of a pump-out facility to the existing sewage main. The pump-out facility will be located on an additional berth adjoined to the existing wharf. The existing boat ramp will be upgraded.
